The history of Marazok
Marazok Chromosphere is a story that I've (rowyn flowerdew) developed for my entire life. As soon as I was able to talk I often retreated into the fantastical worlds of Zaltun and Maratath as my alien cyborg alter-ego "fire tiger" who would later be renamed "Marazok" as the titular character. The story of the comic is driven by a layer of autobiographical references to my personal struggles and life lessons learned during a coming-of-age period in my life, but no characters are directly based on real people or myself. I chose to re-interpret my old childhood writing and drawings with a more mature level of introspection and a darker cynical take on my original story, taking great inspiration from a variety of classic science fiction books, movies, shows, and more recent videogames, as well as huge influences from anime and manga.

The universe of Marazok Chromosphere was merged with and began to build off of the massive fantasy worldbuilding efforts of my good friend Louis Forbes, with numerous references to his creations from his "saodroll" project (which has been in development since 2018) in the prehistory of the Marazok story. planning for my re-imagined marazock story began in early 2024, with numerous pieces of concept art and a long script for the first major arc being developed over the spring.
